Olive, Moran hit grand slams

Sam Olive and Cody Moran both came up with grand slam home runs
Saturday to highlight minors division play at Huntington Valley Little
League.
In Minor A Division play, Olive’s blast was the big hit during the
Cardinals’ 25-2 rout of the Rangers, which also included a three-run home
run by Shea Hausen and Tony Ciarelli going 5 for 5.
Moran’s slam came in the second inning, and he also doubled, but his
Indians were a 6-5 loser to the Marlins, who were led by Trevor
Pagenkoop’s three hits.
In other games:
Mets 3, Yankees 2
Mets pitchers Race Parmenter and Chase Barnes struck out 13 and allowed
just two hits, and Paul McBeth had the team’s lone hit; the Yankees
pitching rotation of Terin Marlatt, Tyler Goodman, Tommy Hennekam, and
Dane Sierra allowed just one hit and struck out nine.
MINOR B DIVISION
Dodgers 17, Yankees 1
Dodger pitchers Kord Webber and Shawn Stiffler combined on a two-hitter,
Webber also tripled and singled, and both Tanner Sierra and Max Johnson
each had two hits; Drew Baumann had two hits for the Yankees.
Cubs 12, Cardinals 0
Dave Folger (double) and Ricky Marin each had two hits, and Nick Mazzone
(triple), Folger, and Ryan Little combined on the pitching shutout for
the Cubs; the Cardinals’ Dean Nerhus broke up a potential no-hitter with
a double.
Diamondbacks 8, Yankees 5
Andrew McFall went 3 for 4 to lead the D-backs; Jason Morash went 2 for 3
for the Yankees.
