Larner one-hitter leads Yankees

John Larner allowed just one hit and not one other base runner in

five innings of pitching as the Yankees scored an 11-0 victory over the

Royals in Fountain Valley Little League Majors Division play.

The Royals’ lone hit was a second inning double by Daniel Elo.

Jeff Mitchell had a two-RBI double and also singled, Matt Fink had two

hits, David McClelland and Phil Burden each had two-RBI singles, and both

Matt James and Jason Allen had RBI singles to lead the Yankees on

offense.

Jonathan Bustamante’s two singles and two RBI lead the Cardinals; Tommy

Delicce had a pair of singles and a double for the Dodgers.

Mariners 4, Royals 1

Octavio Gomez paced the Mariners with a single, double, and two RBI; Alex

Moreno had an RBI single for the Royals.

MINOR A DIVISION

Mets 3, Dodgers 2

David Tarbell, who earlier had tripled, hit a two-run single in the fifth

inning gave the Mets the victory; Joe Peters had an RBI single and Jordan

Weber two singles for the Dodgers.

Devil Rays 10, Orioles 7

Jared Case’s two-RBI double in a five-run sixth inning keyed the Devil

Rays’ comeback victory; Ryan Haskin had a single, triple, and four RBI to

power the Orioles.

Yankees 9, Reds 3

Geoff Feltman hit a two-RBI single and Gordon Edwards had an RBI single

during a six-run fifth inning for the Yankees; Garrett DeJong and Jon

Fried each had hits for the Reds.

MINOR B DIVISION

Mets 10, Braves 8

Peter Fontes hit a three-run inside-the-park home run for the Mets; Marty

Levers hit an RBI triple and Chris VanVuuren had an RBI double for the

Braves.

Devil Rays 9, Dodgers 7

Kevin Dion hit a single and two-RBI triple, Cory Hilleboe had an RBI

single, and Robert Cano singled twice for the Devil Rays; Eric Toso

singled and tripled for the Dodgers.

Angels 17, Yankees 6

Loren Robb doubled and scored three runs and Andrew Palacios had an RBI

and scored three runs for the Halos; Cody Morad had an RBI triple and

both Alex Van Roeckel and Jacob Bonham had RBI singles for the Yankees.

Reds 7, Royals 5

Mohammed Alasker singled and also joined teammate Matt Ord with an RBI

triple, and Brittany Schutte had an RBI double for the Reds; Elton Stolze

had a two-RBI single, Ray Strazzulla had an RBI triple, and Taylor

Stanton had two singles and an RBI to pace the Royals.
