Men’s tennis: Lions trounce Westmont

COSTA MESA - The Vanguard University men’s tennis team go into the
Golden State Athletic Conference on the right foot, following Saturday’s
9-0 rout of Westmont at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center.
Westmont, ranked No. 18 in the nation by the NAIA, stood no chance
against the third-ranked Lions.
Stefan Johansson and Olli Helminen lost a combined three games in their
four singles sets, then teamed up to win, 8-3, in doubles action.
The Lions finish the regular season 19-2, 8-0 in the GSAC and will take
part in the GSAC Tournament, beginning May 2.
