Softball: Hawks handle Sailors

LAGUNA HILLS - Newport Harbor High’s softball team got bitten by

the long ball in Friday’s 18-3 Sea View League loss to host Laguna Hills.

Three home runs by Laguna Hills (13-5, 2-0 in league), including a grand

slam, was just too much for the Sailors (9-2, 0-2) to overcome.

Kristen Smith had a triple and home run to lead the Sailors’ attack.
