Girls basketball: McCoy, Smith All-CIF

Corona del Mar High junior Kristin McCoy and Costa Mesa High senior

Autumn Smith have been named second-team All-CIF Southern Section

Division III-AA by girls basketball coaches.

McCoy, a 5-foot-7 forward, averaged 15.1 points and 10.1 rebounds to help

the Sea Kings win the Pacific Coast League title and reach the CIF

Division III-AA quarterfinals.

She was Newport-Mesa District and Daily Pilot PCL Player of the Year.

Smith, a 6-0 center, averaged 12.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and tied her own

school single-season record with 113 blocked shots. A first-team All-CIF

choice as a junior, Smith helped the Mustangs reach the III-AA

quarterfinals.

Bishop Montgomery freshmen Lauren Ervin and Noelle Quinn, who led the

Knights to the section and state titles, were Co-Players of the Year.
