Women’s tennis: OCC upsets Saddleback

COSTA MESA - Jessica Andrus won her singles match and combined with
Shannon Gibson to win the decisive doubles match, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3
tiebreaker), to propel host Orange Coast College to a 5-4 Orange Empire
Conference women’s tennis upset of Saddleback Tuesday.
The victory clinched third place in conference for Coach Janice Maran’s
Pirates (9-6, 7-4 in conference). It also knocked Saddleback (9-2 in
conference) out of a first-place tie with Riverside.
“This was a huge win for us,” Maran said.
