Girls basketball: McCoy, Cassity share PCL coaches’ MVP honors

Corona del Mar High junior Kristin McCoy and Estancia senior Lauren
Cassity, who led their teams to the top two spots in the Pacific Coast
League girls basketball standings, have been chosen Co-Most Valuable
Players on the coaches’ all-league selections.
McCoy and Cassity each averaged 13.6 points in eight league games.
Newport-Mesa players Joining McCoy and Cassity on the first team are
Costa Mesa seniors Jenny Earnest and Autumn Smith, CdM senior Charlene
Quon, CdM junior Jackie McCoy and Estancia junior Zuyin Barrera.
Estancia is represented on the second team by junior Lisa Hirata and
sophomore Erika Avalos.
Costa Mesa junior Nancy Hatsushi and CdM sophomore Andrea Gruber are also
second-team choices.
