Prep softball: Sailors’ miscues costly, 7-5

GARDEN GROVE - Three first-inning errors led to five Santiago runs
and the Cavaliers hung on for a 7-5 nonleague softball win over visiting
Newport Harbor Monday.
Newport freshman Amanda Campbell went 3 for 3 with three RBI, including a
two-run home run.
Harbor (9-7) scored two in the seventh, but left the tying run on base.
Lindsay Moore, Kristen Smith and Kim Moore each had two of the Sailors’
12 hits.
