The best one-day orchid sale is happening today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at
Green Systems International. The orchid selection is amazing; there are

My favorite linen shop, Scandia Down, is having a sale through Tuesday.
All down, feather and blended sleeping and decorative pillows are reduced
by 25%. Scandia Down also carries great-looking beaded chandeliers by B&H;
artworks. The beaded light fixtures come in a variety of colors and
sizes, and can be custom ordered. They’re perfect in a bedroom or

Carpet Depot is having a childproof carpet sale. Carpets run as low as
$16.99 per square yard and include upgraded padding and installation.
Childproof carpets carry a manufacturer’s 20-year warranty against stain,

Zany Brainy has free, fun events for families every day of the week
during the month of April. On Mondays at 10:30 a.m., there is a preschool
craft time. On Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m., there is board book buddies, where
kids can develop vocabulary through age-appropriate books. It’s ideal for
kids ages 4 and younger. On Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., it’s little learner
activity time. Basic concepts will be taught, such as sorting, organizing
and catching. It’s ideal for ages 2 to 4. On Thursdays at 4 p.m., it’s
fun stuff for 4 and older. The preschool play shops have been so popular
in the past that they’ve added fun and games that are perfect for kids
ages 4 to 6. On Fridays at 7 p.m., it’s weekend kickoff time. The events
vary: on April. 7, it’s Crazy Bones play time; on April. 14, kids ages 4
to 7 can play Pokemon Jr.; on April. 21, kids can watch the Stuart Little
video and get a coloring sheet; on April. 28, it’s a spring time reading
club meeting. The selected book is “In the Year of the Boar and Jackie
Robinson,” by Bette Bao Lord, ages 10 to 13. The weekend events include a
Blues Clues best friends weekend today and Sunday at 2 p.m.; a key chain
making event on Saturday and Sunday, April. 8 and 9 at 2 p.m.; Easter
crafts and story time all day on April. 15 and 16; and the premiere of
the Lego Soccer Collection on April. 22 and 23 at 2 p.m. Zany Brainy is
