Boys tennis: CdM beats Mesa, 15-3
CORONA DEL MAR - After a setback at University, Corona del Mar
High’s boys tennis team got back on track with a 15-3 wallop of visiting
Costa Mesa Thursday in a Pacific Coast League match.
Justin Ning and Shaan Wadhwa swept in singles for the Sea Kings (13-4,
4-1 in league). CdM’s doubles squad of Peter Kulmaticki and Michael Bean
only dropped one game in a three set sweep. CdM’s Josh Stuart and Jay
Reed also won three sets in doubles.
Raphael Bernard and Marvin Lam each won a set in singles for Mesa.
Brothers Thien and Thu Pham picked up a point in doubles for the
Mustangs.

Corona del Mar 15, Costa Mesa 3 Singles - Ning (CdM) def. Bernard, 6-0, def. Nguyen, 6-2, def. Lam, 6-2;
Wadhwa (CdM) won, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1; Fribee (CdM) lost, 3-6, won, 7-5, lost,
6-7.
Doubles - Kulmaticki-Bean (CdM) def. Thien Pham-Thu Pham, 6-0, def.
Lilaram-Solomon, 6-1, def. Patel-Chindalah, 6-0; Stuart-Reed (CdM) won,
6-1, 6-4, 7-5; Warsaw-Weidner (CdM) lost, 3-6, won 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
