NHBA Mustang: Dodgers rally to beat Yankees
NEWPORT BEACH - The Dodgers came back from a 4-0 deficit to win a
dramatic 11-10 decision over the Yankees in Newport Harbor Baseball
Association Mustang Division action.
Peter Kinney, who had two hits in the game, drove in R.J. Cruz (4 for 4)
with the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth.
D’Cruz also pitched three innings, while striking out eight for the
Dodgers.
Drew Littlefair and Cameron Chase each had three hits to spark the
Dodgers’ offense, while Charlie O’Desky, Marshall Stamper, Bradon Cluck
and Stefan Brysha each played solid in all facets of the game.
For the Yankees, John Swift pitched three solid innings and had a double
at the plate, while Spencer Smith added two hits, including a home run.
In other Mustang Division action:
Red Sox 9, Cardinals 3 - Peter Hardee hit a home run to spark the Red Sox
to a 9-3 win over the Cardinals.
Pitchers Andrew Kaban, Garrett Gordon and Christian Anderson combined to
hold the Cards to only three runs. The threesome also sparked a four-run
third inning with key hits.
Nick Vlahakis had an RBI and alert baserunning by Chase Harper led
attack.
Jackson Massingill had two hits and an RBI, while Darren Leggett, Rob
Joslin and Myles Christian each added hits for the Cardinals in their 9-3
loss to the Cardinals.
Cardinal pitchers Morgan Lintz, Matt Bissonnette and Jason Loftus
combined to strike out 10.
Cardinals 13, Braves 7 - Jason Loftus had three hits and three RBIs to
lead the Cardinals over the Braves, 13-7.
Darren Leggett had two hits and two RBIs, while Jackson Massingill added
two doubles and three RBIs for the Cardinals.
Red Sox 7, Cubs 4 - Timmy Cagle, Garrett Gordon and Andrew Kaban sparked
the Red Sox in their 7-4 win over the Cubs.
Cagle and Kaban were each 3 for 3 in the game.
Garrett Gallegos, Johnny Heard, Michael Puncel, Nick Svendson and Jerry
Whitney led the Cubs’ offense, while Andy Hayes made a solid defensive
snag of a Red Sox line drive.
Dodgers 12, Orioles 8 - R.J. D’Cruz had a double, single and four RBIs to
lead the Dodgers over the Orioles, 12-8.
Stefan Brysha added two hits, while Cameron Chase adde a hit and two
scoreless innings on the mound.
Peter Hapke had three hits, while Kyle Caldwell added a pair of hits for
the Orioles.
