Costa Mesa Pony: Diamondbacks rally to knock of Marlins

COSTA MESA - The Diamondbacks needed extra innings to defeat the

Marlins, 9-7, last weekend in Costa Mesa Pony League baseball.

Ryan Gleason and Issac Inouye each had RBIs in the eighth inning to snap

the tie for the Diamondbacks.

Gleason’s hit brought in Corey McCartney with the go-ahead run, before

Inouye’s bunt scored Gleason.

Adam Jorgenson went 4 for 4, while Spencer Pulaski added two hits and

Cullen Crom had a double and two RBIs.

Crom, Jorgenson and Alex Pisarski led the Diamondbacks’ pitching, holding

the Marlins to only six hits.

Chris Greely had two hits and Kyle Fether added an RBI single for the

Marlins.

In other Pony League action:

Indians 8, Mariners 5 - Pitcher Colin McGuire earned the win and was 3

for 4 with three RBIs at the plate for the Indians’ in their 8-5 win

over the Mariners.

Greg Hughes picked up the save and had a two-RBI triple, while Sean

Sinise added a two-RBI single for the Indians.

Mike Cahill went 3 for 4 and Kyle Allen added a key hit to key the

Mariners’ attack.
