MOBILE, Ala. - Gina Liebengood continued to baffle the hitters in
Wednesday’s 2-1 nonconference win over Spring Hill in game one of a
doubleheader with the Alabama-based college.
Liebengood struck out 11 and allowed only two hits for the Lions (14-11).
She had thrown a perfect game Tuesday in a 2-0 win over the University of
Mobile.
The Lions rallied with two runs in the seventh inning. Val Vanaken’s
two-out RBI single, brought in Nikki Benning with the go-ahead run.
Alysia Atchley took a hard-luck loss in game two, won by Spring Hill,
1-0, allowing only two hits through seven innings.
