Changing the City Manager’s Employment Agreement
What to expect:
After almost a year on the job City Manager Homer Bludau received a
satisfactory performance evaluation from the City Council.
Following this, a subcommittee composed of council members John Noyes,
Dennis O’Neil, and Tod Ridgeway met with Bludau to talk about employment
agreement issues. Based on this meeting, the committee decided to approve
a number of items including a salary change of 4% to $145,600 annually and a $50,000 loan toward buying a house.
Filling the Economic Development Committee’s vacancy
What to expect:
The committee will nominate B.J. Johnson for the Corona del Mar Chamber
of Commerce position on the committee. The group voted unanimously for
Johnson at its Feb. 16 meeting
Johnson works at Prudential California Realty and is Coast Magazine’s
real estate columnist. She was also elected president of the Corona del
Mar Chamber of Commerce.
Revising the General Plan
What to expect:
At the study session, the City Council will talk about coming up with a
community survey, which will ask questions about revising the General
Plan. Council would like to get community input on land use and planning
concerns in order to provide guidance as to which areas of the General
Plan need to be changed.
The council will hear a presentation by Carolyn M. Verheyen of Moore
Iacofano Goltsman, Inc. This firm has created surveys for a number of
cities in California including: Pasadena, Davis and Santa Barbara.
