Youth basketball: Winners announced

NEWPORT BEACH - Winners of the Newport Beach Youth Basketball

Championships, conducted on Sunday, have been announced.

All will advance to the Orange County Municipal Athletic Association

Tournament (OCMAA). Girls divisions will play in Buena Park on March

11-12, while the boys play in Newport Beach and Santa Ana on March 13-19.

BOYS DIVISION B (5th-6th Grade)

First place: Newport Elementary Hornets

Coach: Roberto Flores

Players: Jake Carroll, James Coder, Josh Hughes, Cody McDonald, Eric

Meyer, Brian Pearson, Bob Reasoner and Shane Vultee.

Second place: Newport Heights Clippers

Coach: Richard Kelly

Livingston, Nick Novotny and Joe Russell.

GIRLS DIVISION B (5th-6th grade)

First Place: Newport Elementary Surfer Girls
