AYSO Region 97: Ameba halfway there

IRVINE - The Newport Beach Ameba won two games Saturday to take the
lead in its pool in the AYSO boys under 14 Section 11 Southern California
Championship Tournament at UCI.
The Ameba rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Fountain Valley, 6-5,
before knocking off San Marcos, 5-1 in game two.
Winners of 18 in a row, the Ameba will take on San Juan Capistrano
Saturday at 10:45 a.m. at UCI for the right to play in the championship
game at 2 p.m.
In the first game, Eduardo Garcia and Mike Richardson each scored two
goals, while Mike Bury and Eric Zepeda each added solo tallies to bring
the Ameba back from the dead.
In game two, strong midfield play by Eric Zepeda, Bury, Brenden Zimmer,
Devon Andrade, Ramez Wissa kept the Ameba in control.
Garcia and Sergio Luna each scored two goals, while Eddie Zepeda added a
solo tally.
