Softball: Pirates find OEC win column

COSTA MESA - Monica Ortega used her arm and her bat to help the
Orange Coast College women’s softball team to a 11-3 win over visiting
Irvine Valley in Orange Empire Conference action Friday.
Ortega threw a complete-game two-hitter, allowing no earned runs. She
also went 2 for 2 with three RBIs for OCC (12-8, 1-3 in conference).
Renee Snyder went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, while
Kristin Degree had two hits, scored three runs and stole three bases,
bringing her season total to 30.
OCC will travel to Fullerton College Monday at 3 p.m. to take on the
Hornets.
