LA MIRADA - Vanguard University’s softball team split its first two
Golden State Athletic Conference contests with host Biola, winning, 1-0
in game one, before losing, 3-0, in the nightcap.
Gina Liebengood threw a complete-game two hitter for the Lions (11-5, 1-1
in conference) in game one, striking out six. Valerie Vanaken had two
hits to lead Vanguard’s offense.
In game two, the Lions could only muster four hits off the Eagles’
pitching, while Biola scored all three runs in the first two innings.
