Men’s basketball: Lions’ season ends

AZUSA - The Vanguard University men’s basketball team had its
season come to an end with a 102-89 loss to host Azusa Pacific in the
first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament Wednesday
night.
John Kohlhaas led the eighth-seeded Lions (12-19) with 32 points, while
Dennis Keane added 21 points and 14 rebounds.
The Lions fell behind by 23 points after the first half and despite a
valiant effort, could not overtake the top-seeded Cougars.
Brandan Cablay and Shawn Corkery each had 13 points for Vanguard U.
Kevin Daly had 28 points and 11 rebounds for Azusa Pacific (27-4), while
Jerome Joseph added 24.
