COSTA MESA -- Local volunteers will plant 65 trees Saturday on Costa Mesa
High School’s campus.
The event is the first this year for ReLeaf Costa Mesa, a volunteer-based
nonprofit organization. California ReLeaf and the state Department of
Forestry and Fire Protection donated the trees, which include pines,
sweetgums and several other species.
The group is looking for volunteers of all ages to help with the tree
planting. They don’t need experience but should wear work clothes and
gloves. Refreshments will be served.
Interested tree lovers should meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Costa Mesa High
School, 2650 Fairview Road.
If it rains, the planting will be postponed until March 11. For more
information, call Kris Hagen at (714) 546-0168.
