Girls water polo: Sea Kings roll, 11-4

BREA - Corona del Mar High’s girls water polo team advanced to the
CIF Southern Section Division IV quarterfinals with a convincing 11-4 win
over host Brea Olinda Saturday afternoon.
Melinda Tucker had four goals to lead CdM (18-11), while Lauren Guthrie
chipped in with three goals.
Freshman Christina Hewko added two goals and nine steals, while single
tallies were provided by Daniela DiGiacomo and Danielle Carlson.
Sea Kings’ goalie Ann Hendrickson had an all-around day with six saves,
two assists and two steals.
CdM will take on Rosary in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. at
Corona del Mar.
Rosary has an easy time of it, as well, on Saturday, squashing Troy,
10-0.
