Borders Books, Music and Cafe hosts “Youth for Understanding Night” from

7 to 9 p.m. this evening. Youth for Understanding, a group that

encourages international student exchange programs, will provide

2. FLOWER POWER

Sherman Library & Gardens will host a program titled “Spring Blooming

Oxalis” at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Michael Vassar, horticulturist at the

Huntington Library and Gardens, will discuss the use of spring-blooming

oxalis for the Southern California home garden. The event is free and

open to the public. Sherman Library is at 2647 East Coast Highway, Corona

3. TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER

Whittier Law School will hold an auction -- with items ranging from trips

to resort destinations to tickets for cultural events -- to raise money

for law students who work for public interest groups. The auction will be

held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the cafeteria at the school, 3333

Harbor Blvd., Costa Mesa. It is free and open to the public. For more
