Quicksilver claims boys U-10 Area 11-K title

Quicksilver, a Region 117 boys Under-10 All-Star team, won its
final two games of the 2000 Area 11-K tournament last weekend to capture
first place in the Silver Division standings.
Quicksilver rolled past Regions 55 and 143, outscoring the those two
foes, 4-0 and 3-0, respectively.
“The team dominated the tournament by going undefeated,” Quicksilver
Coach Juan Rodriguez said. “I want to congratulate the players and their
parents. It (the tournament) was a beautiful experience.”
Top Quicksilver scorers over the weekend included Drew Russell with three
goals, and Kyle Day, Andy Adams, Kevin Kuwahara, and Juan-Carlos
Rodriguez, each with three goals. Forward Kevin Lewis also had an assist.
Anchoring a tough to penetrate Quicksilver defense was Jonathan Crouch,
Mathew Vairo, Sean Wolf, Derek Chen, James Hensley, goalies Kyle Day and
Nicholas Chen, and midfielders Russell, Read Hersh, Andrew Adams, and
Stephen Ladsous.
