Lightning bolts to first victory
Led by a balanced scoring attack and a 21-save game by goalkeeper
Sergei Sedykin, the Lightning collected their first win of the season by
defeating the Atomic Pucks, 5-3, in Howe Division play Wednesday at Coast
2 Coast Inline Hockey Center.
Geno DeAngelis’ two goals and one assist paced a Lightning scoring attack
that also featured one goal and two assists by Kyle Jeffrey, one goal and
assist from Darryl Morita, one goal by Jeffrey Kurokawa, and an assist
from Reid Kays.
The victory came after the Lighting had dropped their first four games of
the season.
Greg Sanchez and Cory Liska both scored and Jake Fuller picked up a pair
of assists for the Atomic Pucks, who fell to 2-3.
In other matches:
Renegades 6, Riptide 5
Eric Brazile Jr. and Tyler Lakes both scored two goals and Jeremy Garland
had a goal and assist as the Renegades improved to 2-3; Brian Holmes and
Chris Burns each scored twice for the Riptide, who had a four-game
undefeated streak snapped in falling to 3-1-1.
Atomic Pucks 5, Huntington Storm 2
In their second game of the day, Greg Sanchez scored twice with an assist
as the Atomic Pucks dropped the Huntington Storm (3-1-1) from the ranks
of the unbeaten; Sean McAlister and Kyle Miller both scored and Danny Lu
added an assist for Huntington Storm.
Grizzlies 6, Renegades 4
Ryan Ivora and Stephanie Martin each scored twice with an assist, Brian
Elliott and Laura Elliott both scored once, and Stephen Powers had an
assist as the Grizzles (2-1-2) ran their unbeaten streak to four games.
