Men’s basketball: Vanguard loses, 78-63
COSTA MESA - Vanguard University’s men’s basketball team dropped a
78-63 decision to visiting Westmont Tuesday in Golden State Athletic
Conference action.
Vanguard (11-16, 3-12 in conference) got 12 points apiece from Brandon
Cablay, Garid Beeler and Kemmy Burgess. Beeler also grabbed six rebounds.
Westmont (15-10, 7-8) also got a balanced attack from Ryan Monroe and
Mitch Pierce, who scored 15 each.
Westmont, which hit nine three-pointers, took a 40-26 halftime lead and
kept the Lions from getting any closer.
Corey Blick chipped in with 13 points, while Chris Gonzales added 11 for
Westmont.
Ardis Curtis had nine points and 11 assists for the Lions.
The Lions continue GSAC play at Biola Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
