OCC’s administrative dean of Economic Development and Community
Education, George L. Blanc, will be awarded the Economic Development
“Person of the Year Award” at next month’s annual conference of the Assn.
of Community and Continuing Education.
The association is a professional body representing California community
college administrators and managers responsible for operating community
education and continuing education programs.
Blanc, 63, is being recognized for his significant leadership and
contribution in the field of economic development, and for his
contribution in enhancing the recognition, growth and advancement of
economic development at the community college level.
Blanc operates one of the largest community college community education
programs in the nation.
The conference will take place Feb. 15-17 in Santa Barbara.
