LETTER OF THE WEEK

The sad condition of our schools
Should make you wince and cry.
The school bond failed just recently,
Now we’re faced with Measure I.
The land is zoned commercial,
And it needs to stay as such.
Wal-Mart proposed to lease it,
The revenue will help so much.
There are so few alternatives,
Despite our daily prayers.
Where else can we get 400 grand
Each year for school repairs?
And that amount is just from lease,
Don’t forget tax revenue.
It will help improve our city
With no increase to me and you.
Our safest city needs more cops.
Please join in this great crusade.
We can hire more paramedics
To help the elderly who need aid.
Our kids deserve the very best,
And we have an obligation
To provide a safe environment
During their years of education.
My heart goes out to Crest View.
How I wish they’d join our side.
Once they reap Wal-Mart benefits,
Their anger will subside.
Our schools and city need some help.
That fact you can’t deny.
Please Save Our City/Save Our Schools.
Vote no on Measure I.
