Wrestling: Estancia finishes second in PCL

CORONA DEL MAR - Estancia High’s wrestling team finished second in
the Pacific Coast League championships Saturday at Corona del Mar, 20
points behind league champion University. CdM finished third, followed by
Costa Mesa.
The three Newport-Mesa schools sent 19 wrestlers to the CIF southern
Section meet. The top two wrestlers in each weight class qualified.
Among the meet highlights, Estancia’s Abe Inouye pinned his little
brother, CdM’s Ben Inouye, in 1:51 for the 112 weight title. Dan Oruguze
of CdM pinned Matt Mueller of Estancia in 20 seconds in the 171-pound
finals. Jesse Ynez of Costa Mesa got an 18-8 decision over Jesse Wynkoop
of CdM for the 130-pound title. And Aaron Hacker of CdM won a 12-5
decision for the 160-pound crown.
