Boat races: Hal Rosoff Classic set for Feb. 12

NEWPORT BEACH - Canoe and kayak racers from all around will take

part in the 11th annual Hal Rosoff Classic, which will take place

Saturday, Feb. 12, at 8:30 a.m. at the Newport Aquatic Center.

The event will feature canoe, kayak, surf ski and outrigger competitions

of all levels.

Admission is $20 per person, which includes a T-shirt and lunch. Proceeds

will benefit the Junior Newport Aquatic Center.

The five-mile race will begin at the NAC, go toward Lido Island and

return to the NAC.

Racers from around the globe will take part in the various events as a

preparation for the upcoming Sydney Olympics.
