Boys soccer: Estancia clinch PCL title

LAGUNA BEACH - Estancia High’s boys soccer team, ranked No. 2 in
CIF Southern Section Division IV and undefeated in the Pacific Coast
League, crushed host Laguna Beach, 6-2, on Wednesday in a league game.
The Eagles also clinched the PCL title, their first since 1996, coupled
with Costa Mesa’s win over second-place University.
Cesar Terrones scored twice for Estancia (13-1-1, 6-0-0 in league) in the
first half as the Eagles had a slight 2-1 halftime lead. Estancia then
exploded in the second half, with goals from Esaul Mendoza, Omar
Navarrete, Irving Islas and Armando Ortiz. Hilario Arriaga had seven
saves for the Eagles.
