BRIEFLY IN EDUCATION
The Rotary Club of Costa Mesa recently presented OCC with a check for
$18,169 to create a scholarship endowment for the school’s “College for
Kids” program.
College for Kids is a year-round OCC program managed by the school’s
Community Education Department. Through the endowment fund, low-income
youths from Costa Mesa will be afforded the opportunity to attend OCC for
College for Kids classes, workshops, camps and activities.
The College for Kids program encourages elementary, middle and high
school students to enroll in noncredit computer, language, art, music,
drama and science classes. Sports, science camps and swimming lessons are
offered during the summer.
Rotary Club scholarships will be available for OCC’s summer 2000 program.
Parents may submit requests through the Community Education Department.
