Oilers get past Newport Mesa

The West Huntington Beach Oilers bolted to an early lead Sunday

over the Newport Mesa Clippers, and never looked back in posting a 43-36

boys Division 1 victory in National Junior Basketball play at Huntington

Beach High.

Oiler point guard Trevor Schuesler scored 16 points, which included

hitting 6 for 6 from the foul line, and Tim Hoffman dropped in 14 points

to go along with 11 rebounds, as the Oilers, who jumped out to a 12-3

lead, improved to 6-1.
