Applications are out for the Irvine Co.’s 14th annual Student
Leadership Awards scholarship program. This year the program will award
$48,000 in scholarship funds to 20 high school seniors who best
demonstrate the qualities necessary to become future community leaders.
The funds can be used for tuition, books, fees or other college expenses.
To be eligible for funds, students must have a cumulative grade point
average of at least 3.0 and be a college-bound senior from one of 10
local high schools participating.
The program is not solely academic, but also looks at leadership criteria
such as community service and extracurricular activities.
Applications are available in the counselor’s office of each
participating high school. The deadline to apply is Jan 28. For more
information, call Paul Kranhold at 949-720-3231.
