Tickets go on sale at 1 p.m. for the Newport Beach Public Library’s
exciting “Martin W. Witte Distinguished Lecture Series.” The series
includes speakers Susan Faludi, author of “Stiffed” and “Backlash,” who
will speak at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 and 2 p.m. Feb. 12., and Tom Brokaw, who
will speak April 28. Reservations are required and must be made in person
at the central library, 1000 Avocado Ave., Newport Beach. Reservation

Put on the tux or the little black dress and check out “The Marriage of
Figaro” at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Mozart’s opera opens

WEDNESDAYThis is the last week to catch The Orange County Museum of Art’s
exhibit “In the City: Urban Views 1900-1940.” The show looks at early
20th-century visions of the city and comprises more than 50 paintings
from the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art. The
museum is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Admission is $5,
$4 for seniors and students. The museum is at 850 San Clemente Drive,
