Legislative Reception to be held Friday

The Fountain Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Legislative

Reception on Friday at Chiappe’s in the Los Caballeros Racquet and Sports

Club.

“It isn’t very often that the community has the opportunity to walk up to

officials in a casual, social setting,” said Betty Mignanelli, the

chamber’s chief executive.

The informal reception will provide an opportunity for local residents to

meet and directly discuss legislative concerns with government

representatives from the city to the state level. Brief, informal

introductions will be made at the beginning of the reception to announce

who is in attendance. The rest of the evening will be open for the

community to approach and mingle with government officials.

About 300 guests are expected to attend this 19th annual event, including

county Supervisor Chuck Smith. Besides government officials,

representatives from local schools also will be there.

There is no charge to attend the event, which is sponsored by local

corporations.

The reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chiappe’s at the Los Caballeros

Racquet and Sports Club, 17272 Newhope St., Fountain Valley. Business

attire is required. There will be hors d’oeuvres, a no-host bar and a
