1. COMING UP ROSES
The Sherman Library and Gardens presents “Rose Pruning,” a free program
that will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Garden director Wade Roberts
will demonstrate correct rose pruning and discuss the cultural needs for
growing healthy roses. The Sherman Library and Gardens is at 2647 East

2. BOBBING FOR APPLES
The meeting of the Orange County Apple Computer Club will feature a slide
show and video presentation by Dean Cleary, who will demonstrate new
technology from the recent MacWorld Expo. The meeting will run from 8
a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Chemistry building of Orange Coast
College, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. Dues for the club are $45 a

3. A DAY FOR GRAYS
Crystal Cove State Park will hold a “Gray Whale Sunday” from 9 a.m. to
noon Sunday at the boardwalk overlook of Pelican Point parking lot No. 2.
A spotting scope, binoculars, whale props, games and natural history
information will be available. Parking is $6. For more information, call
