A Laguna Niguel attorney was recently named to the Orange County Fair and
Exposition Center board of directors by Gov. Gray Davis.
Ruben Smith, 42, was appointed to the position last month and will
replace Don Willet of Newport Beach, who served for eight years on the
board.
Smith is president-elect of the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of
Commerce and co-founder of the Hispanic Educational Endowment Fund. He
graduated from the University of Southern California and did postgraduate
work at Yale University.
Smith is a partner of the Irvine law firm Alvarado, Smith & Sanchez.
Smith is married and has two children.
