Resolution for the Huntington Beach High School pool?
-- ANDREW WAINER
The fate of the Huntington Beach High School pool may be determined
during the next year.
Take the Plunge, a group of locals whose mission is to raise enough money
to build a new pool, has collected more than $600,000 for the project.
But the group still needs more than a million dollars, and the rest of
the money is nowhere on the horizon.
Some members of Take the Plunge have criticized the Huntington Beach
Union High School District for not contributing to the acquisition of the
pool.
But the city and district have formed a special committee to examine the
issue and brainstorm on how to get the remaining funds needed to build
the pool. The committee’s next meeting will be in January.
