COSTA MESA - Jared Flint, Orange Coast College’s record-setting
quarterback, will continue his athletic and academic careers at the
University of Hawaii next fall.
Flint, who hold OCC career records for attempts (572) completions
(311) and passing yards (3,999), signed with the Rainbows on Monday.
Hawaii, after finishing 0-12 in 1998, reached the Ohau Bowl this year
with an 8-3 record. The Rainbows, who like to use the pass-happy,
run-and-shoot offense, are skippered by former NFL coach June Jones.
This season, Flint completed 190 of 333 passes (both OCC records) for
2,454 yards and 16 touchdowns.
