Although it’s not an Italian tradition, a group of carolers on Friday

will climb aboard gondolas to sing for the community.

Kathy Leek, of Adventures at Sea Yacht Charters, hopes residents will

bundle up in their winter gear and head down to the water to listen and

view the festive event.

Led by Greg Mohr, vice president of the Gondola Society of America, five

boats will cruise Newport Harbor and perform Christmas carols.

Leek encourages residents to get into the holiday spirit by coming to the

event.

The event will take place in Newport Harbor near Newport Island from 5 to

7 p.m. Friday. They will start at the corner of West Coast Highway and

Superior Avenue in Newport Beach.
