Girls water polo: Newport rolls past University

NEWPORT BEACH - Katherine Belden had three goals and four assists

to lead Newport Harbor High girls water polo to a 10-4 nonleague win over

visiting University High Thursday.

Erin Kelly Bates and Katherine Gregg each had two goals, while Jenna

Murphy, Erin Ball and Ali Taylor each added single goals for the Sailors

(7-1).

With only a one-goal lead after two quarters, the Sailors outscored

the Trojans, 5-0, in the third quarter to blow the game open.
