Santa to drop in on students

NEWPORT-MESA -- Students can mingle with Santa and his closest helper,

Mrs. Claus, at school today.

For the 28th consecutive year, the spirited couple from the North Pole

will visit eight area elementary schools. However, they will be giving

the reindeer a day off.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will fly to each school in one of the Newport Beach

Police Department’s helicopters.

Police staff will join Santa and distribute candy canes to all students.

* Andersen Elementary, 1900 Port Seaborne 9:30 a.m.

* Harborview Elementary, 900 Goldenrod 10 a.m.

* Our Lady Queen of Angels, 750 Domingo 10 a.m.

* Eastbluff Elementary, 2627 Vista del Oro 11:10 a.m.

* Newport Elementary, 14th and W. Balboa 1 p.m.

* Mariners Elementary, 2100 Mariners 1:35 p.m.

* Newport Heights Elementary, 300 E. 15th St. 2:10 p.m.
