AYSO Region 5: Tsunamis fall in finals

NEWPORT BEACH - The Tsunamis boys AYSO Division 5 soccer team,
defeated the Haunters in the semifinals, 4-1, before falling in the
championship game, 2-1, Saturday.
In the win over the Haunters, Danny Miller stopped 16 shots on goal,
while goals were scored by Kyle Caldwell, Cameron Chase, Ceasar Amador
and R.J. D’Cruz.
Amador also had two assists, while Chase and Eric Holland each added
single assists.
Solid defense was turned in by Erik Bonn, Rex Nelson, Cameron Holmes
and Hayden Navarro, while Michael Bingham, Mitchell Bancroft and Seven
Reader turned in solid all-around performances.
In the championship game against the Jaguars, with the Tsunamis
tailing, 1-0, in the second half, D’Cruz scored the tying goal off an
assist from Caldwell.
The Tsunamis’ defense was led by Miller in goal, along with Bonn,
Nelson and Holmes.
The Tsunamis finished the season 15-2, and both them and the Jaguars
qualified for regional playoffs, beginning in January.
