Boys basketball: Mustangs roll past Irvine

ANAHEIM - Nathan Jones scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds
to lead Costa Mesa High over Irvine, 50-36, in the second round of the
Taco Company Invitational, played at Anaheim High.
After falling behind, 12-2, to start the game, the Mustangs outscored
the Vaqueros, 21-7, to take take the lead which they would not lose the
rest of the way.
The Mustangs scored the first eight points of the second half to open
up a 31-19 lead.
Ryan Naff had 10 points and nine rebounds, while Rick Hatsushi added
nine points and five assists for the Mustangs, who will take on Tustin/El
Modena in third-round action Friday at 4:50 p.m. at Anaheim High.
