Team USA surprises Renegades

Team USA, which was mired in a four-match winless steak, surprised
the Howe Division-leading Renegades Wednesday, scoring a 7-5 victory at
Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.
Tanner Marsey scored three goals to lead Team USA, which picked up just
its second win in eight matches to improve to 2-5-1.
Marsey now has 24 goals on the season.
Single goals also went to Ryan Boyce, Chad Kelleher, Kelly Kelleher, and
Joshua Laurel, while Boyce and Chad Kelleher each handed out two assists,
to complete the Team USA attack.
Ricky Kratter scored twice to lead a balanced scoring attack that also
featured single goals by Sam Robinson, Jeff Woods, and Christopher Yazzie
as the Renegades fell to 6-3 overall.
In other games:
Riptide 9, Roughnecks 6
Tyler Lakes scored three goals and Joe Murphy scored twice as the Riptide
(4-2-1) gained ground on the Roughnecks (4-2-2) in the division
standings. Jacob Jaramillo, Adam O’Connor, Stephen Powers, and Ross
Turchi also scored, with both Kyle Bezayiff and Justin Holland each
adding two assists for the winners.
Danny Gandasetiawan scored three goals, Drew Leahy scored once with two
assists, Taylor Griffin and Troy Weis each scored once, and Joshua Heyman
had two assists to lead the Roughnecks.
Blastoids 5, Buzzards 4
Two goals went to both Patrick Lacy and Kevin Mahoney, Marques Carroll
scored once to go along with three assists, Michael Thistle had two
assists and Ryan Hemming added another assist for the Blastoids, who
evened their record at 4-4; Newman Collett and Christopher Torres each
scored once with an assist and Greg Earl and Kyle Goode each scored once
for the Buzzards (2-3-3).
Renegades 7, Raptors 4
Sam Robinson scored three goals with an assist and Kevin Hamaguchi and
Jeff Woods each scored once with an assist to power the Renegades;
Matthew Araoz scored twice to lead the Raptors (2-5-1).
