Newport Harbor turn back Woodbridge

NEWPORT BEACH - In the first big Sea View League match between
Newport Harbor High and Woodbridge’s girls tennis team, the Sailors rose
to the occasion and defeated the visiting Warriors, 12-6.
The marquee matchup between Natalie Braverman and Suzanna Lingman went to
Braverman, 6-4. She also won her other two matches, 6-0, 6-0. Lingman
beat Audra Adams and Chelsea Godbey by identical scores of 6-1. Adams and
Godbey came back by sweeping Woodbridge’s other singles players.
Kristin Case and Jenny Meyers teamed up in doubles for the first time and
swept their three matches in impressive fashion, 6-1, 7-5, 6-3.
Newport Harbor improves to 10-1, 3-0. The teams meet again on Oct. 26.

6-0; Adams (NH) lost 1-6, won 6-0, 6-0; Godbey (NH) lost 1-6, won 6-2,

Doubles: Case-Meyers (NH) def. Exon-Husted 6-1, def. Soriano-Rue 7-5,
def. Hochkiko-Fazeli 6-3; Collopy-Hawkins (NH) won 6-1, lost 4-6, won 7-5; Barker-Schneider (NH) lost 1-6, 3-6, 4-6.
