It was a day of the dogs at the Westin South Coast Plaza to celebrate the lunar Year of the Dog.

The Costa Mesa hotel hosted a “Yappy Hour” gathering Friday afternoon for pups and their people.

Humans got free appetizers and drink specials while their dogs lapped up bacon- and chicken-infused water and treats.

Some lucky dogs received gift bags.
