Orange Coast College student killed in motorcycle crash

An 18-year-old student at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa was killed Monday in a motorcycle crash in Irvine, authorities said.

Colin Halleland of Irvine was riding a motorcycle in the area of San Remo and Paseo Westpark when the crash occurred, police said.

Police and the Orange County Fire Authority responded at 5:45 p.m. and found Halleland unresponsive on the roadway. Authorities attempted lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene, police said.

A woman driving a sedan that was involved in the crash was not injured.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
