As Laguna Beach police wrote on social media after making a burglary arrest Saturday, “It’s not always the co-worker that steals food.”
A burglar who broke into a Laguna Beach business helped himself to some Jell-O, police said.
Police responded to an alarm at a business in the 800 block of South Coast Highway at about 5 a.m. Saturday.
Officers surrounded the business and found a man inside wearing sweatpants and no shirt. Police allege the man broke into the business and noshed on Jell-O that he found in a refrigerator.
The business’s name was not disclosed.
Ross Simard, 34, of Malibu was arrested on suspicion of burglary and providing a false name to police. There also was a warrant for his arrest from a previous burglary in Los Angeles, police said.
Simard, who is listed in jail records as self-employed, was booked into Orange County Jail with bail set at $350,000.
