Firefighters rescued a driver whose car swerved off a road in Irvine and down an embankment Friday afternoon.
The car came to rest about 75 feet down a slope near the intersection of Turtle Ridge Drive and Summit Park, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steve Hurdle said.
Firefighters arrived shortly before 1 p.m. Crews put the driver in a rescue basket that they hauled to the top of the embankment, Hurdle said.
An ambulance took the driver to a local trauma center.
Hurdle could not immediately provide more information about the crash, the driver or the extent of the driver’s injuries.
